FILM: Join us for a premiere screening of the award winning film Organic Rising- a feature-length documentary that “demystifies” organic agriculture by contrasting chemical-intensive farming with organic systems and unpacking what the USDA organic label really means.

WISCONSIN ORGANIC INDUSTRY PANEL: The afternoon wil start with a Wisconsin organic food system panel with a consumer-focused review of the USDA National Organic Program standards from Noreen Mucha from the nonprofit Wisconsin Organics & discussion with local certified organic farmer Paul Maggio from Starry Nights Farm, Liz Lyon from Gwenyn Hill Organic Farm and David Payne from Potter’s Crackers.

ORGANIC FOOD: A taste of some Wisconsin‑produced organic snacks and beverages are included with the entrance fee, and local Wisconsin organic vendors will be on site offering certified organic samples and items for purchase.

REGISTRATION: It is preferred if you register in advance, however walk-ins are welcomed. The $8 admission goes towards local food systems activities.
