DESCRIPTION:Please save the date and plan to attend the upcoming chapter annual meeting\, to be held on Thursday\, October 1st from 4:30-7:00pm at Fondy Farm (at Mequon Nature Preserve- 9011 W Donges Bay Rd\, Mequon\, WI\, 53097). Hmong/HMoob interpretation will be provided Come to hear updates about the Farmers Market Collective Project\, elect 2027 chapter officers\, prepare for WFU Annual Convention\, and tour the Fondy Farm! More details below. 4:30-5pm: Chapter Annual Meeting Welcome and Introductions Updates from the Chapter Updates from the State office Election of Officers If you are interested in running for an officer position\, please let chapter president Sam know! We encourage anyone to join and are happy to discuss roles and any questions you might have!Prepare for State Convention (Dec 11-13 in Appleton) Elect Delegates for State Convention- let Sam know if you are interested in attending! The chapter will be able to provide some financial assistance for delegates to attend convention The chapter is also able to help coordinate carpooling and room-share for convention- let Sam know if you are interested! Review any policy resolutions that chapter members are proposing for convention Members that are wanting to put forward policy for the chapter\, please contact Sam\, by Monday\, September 14th. They are able to guide the process and answer any questions you might have. In the meantime\, you are encouraged to attend the WFU Policy Process 101 webinar on September 3rd. Hear from chapter leaders about the Farmers Market Collective Project they have been working on- and learn how you can get involved! The project will organize local farms to collectively sell a full range of vegetables from a shared market stand at farmers markets\, restaurants\, and corporate partners throughout the season! Participating farms will specialize in a small number of crops and grow them at consistent weekly volumes for the season. 6-7: Tour of the Fondy Farm The Fondy Farm is a 25 acre patchwork of small family farms. It offers affordable\, long-term leases on quality land plus the amenities needed to succeed\, such as irrigation\, greenhouses\, tractors\, as well as technical and business assistance from the Fondy Director of Farming Operations\, Stephen Petro.
