DESCRIPTION:The Milwaukee-Waukesha and Dodge-Fond du Lac-Sheboygan-Ozaukee Chapters of the Wisconsin Farmers Union are collaborating with the Milwaukee Area Labor Council for a double feature film screening and panel discussion about immigration and dairy. They invite workers\, farmers\, and community members to join them on Sunday\, April 27th at the Laborers Local 113 building for the film screening and panel discussion\, a free private event focused on education and community building. La Tierra del Queso\, a production between Voces de la Frontera and Wisconsin Farmers Union\, highlights the collaboration between dairy farmers and their workers to fight back against anti-immigrant rhetoric and bills. The post film panel discussion will feature Dr. Lola Loustaunau with the UW School for Workers\, Mario Ramirez from Voces de la Frontera\, and Michael Slattery\, farmer\, WFU member\, and long-time advocate for immigrant rights in WI.Event Highlights:Light refreshments will be provided Informal networking and conversation opportunities to foster collaboration and continued dialogue.This is a free\, private event\, with registration online and at the door.
