Community Scale Solar Farm Tour

Description

Considering putting solar on your farm? Being approached to put in renewable energy? Learn from local landowners about their personal journey and the process that led them to construction of a 25 acre solar installation. See the space safely and hear from the landowners, developer, construction manager, county staff and more.

Preparations for pollinator plantings in the solar array have already begun and a wetland enhancement is happening on the edge of field as well. Learn about the ecosystems impacts and tradeoffs from those who know.

Snacks and water provided, limited availability. Dress appropriately for walking in the field and for weather.

Location

Please pull in and park thoughtfully, then meet in the barn!
